Gaga for LaLa(Land); LaLaLand BASICS Collection

Wednesday, 19 March 2014

I've drooled over the jewellery from LaLaLand for ages, and was excited to hear that LaLaLand have released their first own-label clothing collection, a collaboration with Scottish Artist  Kirsty Baynham AKA Prism of Starlings; LaLaLand was founded by Sarah Graham in 2010 'as an alternative to the cookie cutter offerings on the high street.'

Last week saw the return of Bold Souls Off The Catwalk to Hummingbird in Glasgow, which presented as always an array of talented Scottish designers including to my delight LaLaLand! LaLaLand showcased their BASICS range, featuring pretty illustrations from Prism of Starlings on easy to wear pieces. I love the cut and fit of the boxy tees and sweatshirts, and think I'll be adding the Fox Cameo sweatshirt to my wardrobe very soon, I think it'd be perfect to wear to college or out shopping with a pretty collared shirt underneath, with a flippy floaty skirt and some ankle boots, perfect spring outfit!

I also fell in love with the Crowns particularly the Deer Princess Crown, I actually heard after the show that the crowns had only originally been created for the BASICS photo shoot, but so many people contacted Sarah saying how much they loved them that she made more to sell! I'm certainly glad she did as I can't wait to find the perfect occasion (any day really, as who wouldn't wear a crown to the supermarket ;) to wear the Deer Princess crown, which I hope to add to my bulging accessories collection very soon.

With prices ranging from £10-£35 the LaLaLand Basics collection is seriously affordable with so many pretty wearable designs, oh and I almost forgot to mention the hand stamped pop culture pencils from LaLaLand definitely a must buy for the super fan in your life, I'll be ordering a few packs soon as presents for a few friends and can't wait to see their faces when I give them to them, priceless! :)
Ah, I'll never not love Shosh'!
